Terri Dillard – Workers’ Compensation Claims Supervisor
Terri has been with our team since 2002, where she serves as Workers’ Compensation Claims Supervisor. Prio to joining our team Terri worked with Atlantic mutual where she participated in multiple in-house training programs. Terri is taking several courses with the AICPCU to advance her claims knowledge..
John Urquhart – Claims Associate Supervisor
John serves as our Claims Associate Supervisor and joined our team in 2017. Prior to joining us, John worked in Risk Management at the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority for twenty-four years and recently at Virginia Tech for the past seven years as the Claims Manager in the Office of Risk Management. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from James Madison University and obtained an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) certification. John enjoys golf, World War II History, and hiking.
Kathy Alcorn – Legal Counsel
Kathy joined our team as Legal Counsel in 2018. Prior to that, she was a Partner with the law firm of Midkiff, Muncie & Ross. Kathy is widely considered a subject matter expert in the specialized field of medical cost containment in both workers’ compensation and liability contexts and has been listed by Super Lawyers as a Virginia Rising Star since 2016. Kathy graduated cum laude from Virginia Tech and was a Barnett Scholar at the University of Richmond School of Law.
Vicki Booth – Claims Trainer
Vicki serves as our Claims Trainer. She’s been with our team since 2002. She has 37 years of experience in the insurance business, specializing in the handling of workers’ compensation claims, along with several years handling property and casualty claims. Prior to joining us, she was employed at Harleysville and Erie Insurance Company. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and attending car events, showing off their collection of Ford Mustangs.
Sara Vance – Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist
Sara handles workers’ compensation investigation and lost-time claims. A St. Louis native, Sara relocated to Roanoke in 2013 to join our team. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English Literature from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2013. Prior to joining VACORP, she held a variety of customer service-related positions.
Kristine Black – Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist
Kristine graduated from the California University of Pennsylvania in 2006 with her bachelor of science in Social Work. She joined our team in 2014 and worked as a Claims Technician, Claims Associate, and is now a Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist. Kristine enjoys watching Netflix, cooking, and traveling.
Sherri Candelario – Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist
Sherri graduated from Kaplan University with a Masters of Business Administration in 2013. Before joining our team, she handled Workers’ Compensation and medical claims for a physician’s office. She is also experienced in working health care claims for various specialty markets. Sherri is a native of Washington, DC and moved to the Roanoke, VA in 2006. She enjoys cooking for friends and family in her spare time.
Kristina Dillon- Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist
Kristina graduated from Bluefield State College in 2006 with a degree in Social Sciences. Since 2006, she has handled Workers’ Compensation claims for WV, PA, VA, and NJ. Kristina lived in Knoxville, TN for six years and worked with multiple states and clients during that time. In 2016, she relocated to the Roanoke, VA area to be closer to her family and friends.
Kim Hudkins- Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist
Kim has a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Glenville State College and a Masters in Elementary Education from Marshall University. She worked as a substitute teacher for approximately 10 years. Upon relocating to the Roanoke area in 2014 to be closer to family, she began working with our team in the support department. She became a claims associate in 2015 and is now handling workers’ compensation claims.
Caitlynne Lendley – Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist
Caitlynne graduated from Liberty University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Women’s Ministry. She joined the VACORP team in July of 2015, serving as a Claims Technician and a Claims Associate before becoming a Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist. Caitlynne enjoys cooking, watching Netflix, and is an avid baseball fan.
Nicole Marvin – Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist
Nicole is a Claims Specialist with VACORP. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business with a specialty in Human Resource Management. She has handled insurance claims for 18 years and has experience with Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability, and Bodily Injury. She also has prior experience working on the employer side in human resources.
Mike Paplomatas – Workers’ Compensation and Property and Casualty Claims Specialist
Mike is a Workers’ Compensation and Property and Casualty Claims Specialist with our team. He has worked in Workers’ Compensation and Property & Casualty claims since 1987. He served in the US Coast Guard from 1977-1981. He then earned a bachelor of science in Marketing from Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh, PA in 1985.
Dawn Simpkins – Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist
Dawn has been with VACORP since 2003 and handles our more complex workers’ compensation investigative and lost-time claims. She has an associate’s degree from Central Texas College and has been in the claims handling business since 1989. She earned her Associated in Claims designation from the Insurance Institute of America in 1999.
Megan Taylor – Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist
Megan has worked in the insurance industry since 2008 and has been with our team since 2012. She has been promoted twice and now serves as Claims Specialist. In addition to handling lost-time claims, she assists with our Line of Duty Act claims. She received a bachelor of fine arts from Longwood University in 2012. Megan is from Rocky Mount, VA.
