Ken JusticeKen Justice – Claims Manager

Ken serves as our Claims Manager and joined our team in 2007. Prior to joining our team, he worked as a Workers’ Compensation and Liability adjuster for Crawford and Company from 1990-1993, in sales with Moore Business Forms from 1993-1994, and as an adjuster for Nationwide. He graduated from Radford University with a bachelor’s degree in Finance.

Jared Mullen – Property and Casualty Claims Specialist

Jared began working with VACORP in 2014. He’s worked as a Claims Technician, Claims Associate, and is now a Property and Casualty Claims Specialist. In 2011, Jared graduated with a B.A. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Business Administration from New England College in Henniker, NH. He played 4 years of NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey in college and currently volunteers as an Assistant Ice Hockey Coach.

Shane QuinleyShane Quinley – Property and Casualty Litigation Specialist

Shane joined our team in 2012 and currently serves as Litigation Specialist. He has served in a variety of roles for us, including as a Claims Tech with the Support Team and as a Claims Associate, handling minor auto, liability, and workers’ compensation claims. Shane received his bachelor’s degree from Bluefield College in Management and Leadership.

Tammy WindleTammy Windle – Property and Casualty Claims Specialist

Tammy has been with us since 2003, having worked in our Support Team for 10 years before moving to the Claims Department as a Claims Associate in 2013 and then a Claims Specialist in 2014. Tammy has a bachelor’s degree from Radford University with a concentration in Speech Communications. Tammy enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, son, and parents in her hometown of Pulaski, VA.

Breckell GregoryBreckell Gregory – Property and Casualty Claims Specialist

Breckell handles major property and casualty claims and makes initial recommendations to Claims Associates on the processing of minor property and casualty claims. She has more than 25 years of insurance-related experiences and earned a bachelor’s degree from Catawba College.

Walt smallWalt Wharram – First Party Claim Appraisal Manager

Walt Wharram joined our Risk Management Team on a full-time basis in 2014 and serves as Manager to our Property Appraisal and Property Valuations Departments. Walt brings nearly 20 years experience in independent claims management and has worked thousands of first and third party property losses ranging from small specialized incidents to severe exposures involving eight figure settlements. Walt is a seasoned field manager having conducted appraisals in large scale catastrophic events such as hurricane Isabel, Irene, Katrina and Superstorm Sandy. Walt graduated from Liberty University. He lives in Richmond, VA with his wife and daughter.

Chris HaleChris Hale – Property Evaluator

Chris retired from the Marine Corps in 2010 after 20 years of service. Following his service, he worked as an independent claims adjuster with ONSITE and joined our team in 2016 to establish and grow the Property Valuation Department. Chris is currently attending The Art Institute of Pittsburgh (Online Division) and is working towards a BS in Interior Design. In his spare time he enjoys carpentry and trail riding in his Jeep.

Sara VanceSara Baranauskas- Property and Casualty Claims Specialist

A St. Louis native, Sara relocated to Roanoke in 2013 to join our team. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English Literature from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2013. Prior to joining VACORP, she held a variety of customer service-related positions.
