Overnight Investment Account

Keep Funds Liquid While Earning Competitive Rates

VACORP’s Overnight Investment Account (020) has proven to be one of our most popular services. This tier structured account allows credit unions to place all liquid, daily excess funds with VACORP while keeping exposure low, earnings high and administration at a minimum. VACORP’s Overnight Investment Account allows credit unions to earn more on liquid funds by transferring funds into this non-transaction account.

Transfers to and from the Overnight Transaction Account can be initiated via Open Door or by calling Member Services at 1.888.4VACORP.

Term Investments

VACORP offers term share certificates with durations ranging from thirty days to five years. Credit unions may purchase term certificates for as little as $10,000.

Structured Offerings

All structured products have a minimum purchase of $100,000.

Fixed Callable Certificates

Credit Unions can purchase a VACORP fixed callable certificate featuring a fixed rate and an embedded call schedule. This allows VACORP to potentially call the investment prior to final maturity. This call option is balanced by the credit union receiving a dividend rate in excess of a comparable, non-callable share certificate.

Step-Up Certificates

Step-up certificates also feature an embedded call option. However, these certificates feature a rate that re-adjusts at a higher dividend (a “step-up”) on a specified date during the life of the investment.

Amortizing Certificate Program (ACP)

These certificates return the principal over the life of the certificate based on a reference benchmark (T-bill, Freddie Mac, etc.) Interest is paid monthly along with the principal return. A published amortization schedule details the approximate duration of the certificate

Transferable Certificates

Credit unions wishing to invest $1 million or more will find VACORP’s Transferable Certificates a perfect fit. This program allows members the opportunity to invest directly with U.S. Central Credit Union. Investment types include CDs, callable certificates, and step-ups. Transferable certificates have a one-year minimum maturity and are held in a VACORP Safekeeping Account.

SimpliCD

SimpliCD allows credit union investors to easily invest substantial funds in federally insured CDs without the hassle, time and expense of investigating potential issuers and purchasing the CDs themselves.  Investors can choose from a wide range of maturities with convenient settlement in a safekeeping account. SimpliCD also gives financial institutions a convenient and effective means of generating liquidity by issuing federally insured CDs without having to spend the time and money to market their deposits nationally, analyze the market, or manage multiple CDs and deposit relationships.
