Chris Ballard – Risk Control Manager
Chris joined our risk control team in 2015. He earned a bachelor of science degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Murray State University in Kentucky. He worked for Murray State University in the Environmental Safety and Health office for three years and has also worked as a consultant for the Brooks School Safety Group. Chris provides VACORP members with support staff safety trainings, facility assessments, safety programs, and claims review meetings. He resides in Richmond, VA with his Wife.
John Bolling – Senior Risk Control Consultant- Senior Public Safety Specialist
John has more than 30 years of law enforcement, loss prevention, safety, and security experience having retired from the Roanoke City Police Department. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Averett University and a master’s degree in Security Management from Bellevue University. His risk management experience includes Insurance, Risk Analysis, Benchmarking, and Trend Analysis. He is also an authorized OSHA 10- and 30-hour trainer and has the ARM certification from the Insurance Institute.
Jim McClellan – Senior Risk Control Consultant
Jim is responsible for safety and loss control services for VACORP. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Old Dominion University. He also has more than 26 years of experience in loss control and holds the Certified Safety Professional designation. Jim is also an authorized 10- and 30-hour OSHA trainer for General Industry. Jim joined our team in 1999 and specializes in transportation, workers’ compensation and governmental liability issues. Prior to joining us, Jim worked as a loss control consultant for Liberty Mutual Group, servicing industrial and commercial customers.
Mike Rezac – Loss Control Consultant
Mike joined our team in 2014. He has a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Grove City College. Mike began his career as a risk consultant with Federated Insurance where he assessed the exposures of commercial accounts and developed plans to control their risk. He was a field trainer before moving on to a position with ISO where he focused on property inspections and underwriting surveys. His work includes facilitating in-person and webinar-based training, conducting property walk-throughs, providing risk management consultations, and updating the risk control resource content for members.
